The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Mr. Ahaoma Kanu, an award winner and a seasoned journalist with the CNN, as Chief Operating Officer of the party’s publicity team.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Olisa Metuh, made this known in a statement he issued on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said that the decision was taken by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) as part of measures to consolidate on the party’s editorial team.
The PDP spokesman said that the party’s website and its official magazine“the umbrella’’ had been repackaged ahead of the 2015 general elections.
This, he added was part of programmes of the party’s publicity directorate geared toward ensuring that it maintained its “preeminent position’’ in 2015, in spite of the antics of opposition parties.
“The PDP website will have a contemporary outlook and multimedia components making it a useful tool for the younger generation of Nigerians to be more actively involved in the activities of the ruling party.
“In the same vein, the party’s official magazine; the umbrella, has been repackaged and upgraded to have more content.
“It will focus on development strides recorded by the party at the federal, state and local government levels in the country, ’’ Metuh said.
